I was having trouble with my transmission going into reverse and I had the transmission and transfer case replaced but the transmission that I replaced it with won't go into any gear I spoke to the wrecking yard where I purchased the transmission and they said they took it off a truck that was working properly and was tested beforehand my question is if there could be any other possible reason for the transmission to not go into gear?

Good morning

Make sure the fluid level is correct.

Did you drop the pan and change the filter?? it could be clogged.

Beyond that, it may be an internal failure.

I made sure to change out the filter and fill both the transfer and transmission to the levels indicated by the system the wrecking yard is saying it might be an electrical issue but to my understanding it's not an electrical transmission but I wanted to double check and see if their is anything else I should be checking.

Not electronic at all. Engagement is a mechanical, not electronic function.

You have a bad trans.
