Car drives fine without heater, as soon as you press the heater/defroster/AC, it jerks hard when downshifting and some when accelerating

I have the car listed above EX model which has not had any noticeable issues until last week. On my way home I noticed that the car jerked when downshifting. I turned off everything in car, including heater. I noticed that when heater is on, the car jerks, when it is off, it seems to drive okay. About 15 miles later while testing the heater issue, the 'hybrid system failure' message appeared along with 'failure to charge' message. I drove another 5 miles before the car shut off and I had to park it in a field. I could not restart the car. I replaced the 12v H6R battery which had been problematic for about a year. Is this an A/C compressor issue or transmission or?

Hello,

This sounds like the AC compressor is starting to lock up. Here is the location of the compressor and how to replace it with the fuse location as well. These guides will help check the diagrams below:
