Some people say that the vent tube might be plugged. So I change that out and drained the transmission pan and put new transmission fluid in. Now when you first start it and drive down the road it shifts at 2200 but just a few miles down the road the RPM's go up and it doesn’t want to shift out of first.

We need to start with checking for codes because it sounds like it is in limp in mode.

If that is the case we should have some codes as I think this is a solenoid issue but if we have codes that will confirm it. If no codes we will need to check the line pressure. Let me know what codes and we can go from there. Thanks

Okay. More then likely the P0740 is causing the main issue. It is basically creating heat in the transmission which is causing the fluid to get hot.

I would suggest diagnosing that code first and then retest the transmission. If the other remains we can chase that but I suspect the Torque Converter clutch is the main issue.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks
