Transmission issues, when reversing it switches to neutral on its own?

The transmission is a 7 speed DCT, sometimes it skips odd gears sometimes even gears. When reversing it switches to neutral on its own. The D selector on the dash blinks and Check engine light comes on.

It sounds like you have a clutch actuator that is starting to fail but since the check engine light is on let's run the codes to see what comes up, here is a guide to help:

Is this a euro car? I don't see the DCT transmission here in the states. I see the regular automatic 7 speed transmission; do you have shift paddles on the steering wheel? Please let me know.

Yes, it's a euro car with no paddle shifters. Sometimes it drives normal, sometimes it drives with odd gears only and sometimes it drives with even gears only.

Yep, this will be a clutch actuator problem but we should run the codes to see what is stored in the computer that way we know which way to go to help fix the car, please go over the guide above.
