I recently rebuilt my transmission and I was wondering how much transmission fluid I should put in because the dipstick is impossible to get an accurate reading from. I only replaced the same amount I got out of the pan and I do not think it is enough. How many liters/quarts should it take not including torque converter?

Good evening.

Four quarts in the pan with transmission fluid change.

9.7 with torque converter drain.

This guide will help you get the job done correctly. On these the dipstick holds fluid in the lower curve which gets on the stick causing the false readings so you must install and remove the stick many time to help dry the tube out.
