Every other gear is fine, and it will reverse fine too. I recently got the transmission fluid flushed and replaced but still the same results. Does this seem like a small fix like maybe seals and band need to replace or a complete rebuild?

Hi,

It could be the result of a few things. When you place it in drive, does the gear indicator show D?

If it does, here is what I suggest. We need to scan the can-bus system. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

Here is a link showing how this is done:

Let me know if you are able to have that done. If you can, let me know what codes are retrieved.

Take care,

Joe

Yes, indicator does show D, can I get that scanned at AutoZone? What’s the estimated cost on what you think, best to worst?
Thank you for replying.

Hi,

You can try having it done at AutoZone, but the scanner they use will likely not read the code in the different modules.

Regardless, have them do it. There could be a standard "P" code that will help.

Let me know what you find.

Just getting it there. Is the hard part because of the car not moving? I will do my best to get it scanned and let you know. Just hope it’s not nothing expensive to fix.

Hi,

If you can't drive it, I don't think I would try AutoZone. It was a thought that just maybe they would get us info to help. I don't want to see you go crazy just to find out they can't help.

Is it possible for you to contact AutoZone and ask if they would lend you a scan tool?
