Car moving while in park

Was going down the road and front wheels locked up then freed up an I pulled over and put car in park. Still rolled, so back on jacked up car turned the wheel forward and reverse it locked up again in reverse and had it towed to the house took axles out and differential cover off and found pieces of metal in bottom of differential? Transmission a140e.

Sounds more like either the spider gears in the differential or possibly off the ring or drive pinion. The park pawl and it's related parts are on the other end of the transmission with the OD gearing in the extension housing, separate from the differential section of the case.
