I was driving on the freeway and took an exit. While sitting at the stop light the car went quiet and I no longer felt the purr of the engine in the brake, I checked and saw that the auto off feature was turned off, so the engine was still running. When the light turned green, I put my foot on the accelerator. It took more pressure for the car to move, and it felt like the car wasn't wanting to go. About a mile down the road, I pulled into a parking lot, shifted the transmission into park, back into drive and went to exit. As I went to pull forward it felt like the car didn't want to move and noticed that if the car was stopped with the brake, then it was released. It felt as if in neutral.

This happens when the car is in limp mode, do you have a check engine light on? If so, we need to run the codes to see what comes up. You can get a code scanner from Amazon for about $20.00.

Here is a guide/video to show you how:

If you don't have a check engine light on you should run the codes anyway because sometimes the codes will not trigger a check engine light. Make sure the emergency brake is not on. If the car is in neutral, will it roll easily? Please let me know, I want to get this problem fixed for you.
