I recently had the transmission flushed and it was replaced with a universal synthetic transmission fluid. *I've had the car a week. Anyway after coming to an abrupt stop from 40. The engine cut out after a hard down shift to first. Could it be the torque converter? The shop said give the atf 250 miles to work it in.

Normally the converter clutch has been released by that time. Butif they stick they can do that. Most trans shops do not flush fluids they change it. Give it time and see if anything else goes wrong with it. It may disappear
