2002 Chrysler sebring COnvert- The car seems to run fine. A loud rattle when the car has been sititng for a couple hours, but this goes away as the car is warming up. The really problem is the car bucks really hard when the car is coming down from over 30 miles per hour. It always happens when the car almost reaches 25. Is this the transmission or something else?

It sounds like your transmission is not calibrated properly and needs to be readjusted. It could also be a computer error that needs to be reset since most cars rely on computers now. I suggest getting an engine diagnostics test since you are hearing rattling in the engine casing. I also have a question.

When was the last time you checked your Engine Oil levels? Rattling sounds (especially when an engine is cold) are usually associated wiith low oil levels or dirty oil that needs replacing.

This may solve the rattling problem at engine start-up and may keep you form forking out money for a diagnostics test.

I suggest replacing your oil and oil filter to see if that resolves the rattling issue. If it persists then see an ASE certified Tech for an engine diagnostics test.
