I changed the transmission cooler lines and did a transmission tune up kit, but my car is slipping, when I accelerate it's staying at 4.5 to 5 RPMs. There is no leaking and I have transmission fluid in it. When the problem occurred I was driving on the highway the carriage for the spare tire was slightly hanging. Do to having to cut the line to get the spare off? Due to rust and the cable not lowering. While on the highway I hit dip in the road. I take it the carriage broke off. I seen what look like smoke in the review mirror which turned out to be transmission fluid. It only leak down the passenger side. My mechanic noticed the transmission cooler lines to the passenger side was cracked that when I replaced that and like how I started the message. What can be the problem?

More than likely you are low on transmission fluid. The most common cause of this slipping or feeling of going into neutral is the pump is trying to pressurize air and not fluid.

So this means we are going to have to check and top off the fluid. I am attaching the process below from the manual on how to do this.

Here is a guide that will help as well:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-service-an-automatic-transmission

I also attached the process below on how to change the filter because if that is not fully seated then it will pull air as well and not fluid as the filter has the pick up which stays submerged in fluid.

Based on all this info, I doubt that just replacing lines caused any damage to the unit but that would directly effect the fluid level so that is where we need to start.

Thanks
