Transmission not shifting properly

Welcome to 2CarPros. So you put the transmission in reverse and it does nothing? Or does it feel like it's trying to move? The does not shift, does that mean it does go in drive or if you shift it into low but it doesn't shift up as it should?
In either case it sounds like the transmission has an internal failure and is due for a rebuild or replacement. When was the last time the transmission was serviced?
