When I go to accelerate hard or when I go on the freeway my traction control light will come on for a quick second. Is this issue I need to address or just ease up on the gas pedal?

Hi,

A couple of things can be happening. If you spin the tires, it can cause it to turn on. Also, a faulty wheel speed sensor. What I would suggest is to have the can-bus system scanned to see if there are any codes related. It may point you directly to a specific wheel speed sensor. Here is a video showing how it's done:

If this isn't something you can have done, I would check to see if there are any damaged wires or anything at the wheel speed sensors that could cause an intermittent issue. Here is a link that shows how to test one, but since it is intermittent, this may not work.

If you look below, I attached a pic showing sensor locations. Simply inspect them for damage and make sure they are tight.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
