Help! Can't get the front wheels off my '91 FWD Tercel!

I realize this is a very basic question, but. I was going to rotate my tires. The back tires come right off, but the front ones won't budge. Do I have to take the outer wheel bearing off (remove cotter pin, castellated nut, etc.) Or what? Is this a FWD thing? I hate to pay someone to do a relatively simple job like this--plus they'll try to sell me new tires ;-) Thanks all!

My girlfriend has a 98 corolla. When I went to change the front brakes. I had a hard time getting the wheel off too. What I found was when I lowered the jack a little the weight of the car freed the wheel.

I hope this helps. Stay safe.

If the wheels have been on the car for a long time, they sometimes rust themselves to the center hub. Try this technique. Jack up the car and place a jackstand or support under car. Sit on the ground and place your feet at the 3 o clock and 6 o clock position. Don't forget to remove the lug nuts. Try kicking on the wheel from left to right, it will most likely break the bond of rust, and the wheel will come off. GOOD LUCK
