I just bought a Toyota Tercel. Driving from the dealer, I noticed that the speedometer was reading that the car was going slower than it actually was. I checked the tire size and the car has 14 inch tires. I believe the OEM size was 13 with a 14 option. I know on some vehicles there is a speedometer gear that one can change. Is that available on this particular car?

How do you know its driving slower then it says? Bigger tires make you go faster not slower. Take it back adn demand them fix it.

Bigger tires make you go faster because they cover a few extra inches per revolution, which going 55 you may be going 58-60.
