I was in the process of changing the gear oil in my 5 speed manual transmission. I was checking to see if I had enough room to fit the quart bottle of gear oil in the fill plug (side of the tranny). When I pulled the bottle back out, the small 1" cone-shaped plastic cap on the spout came off and fell inside the transmission case. I have tried to 'fish" it out with a wire coat hanger, but I cannot see where it fell. I was told by a few repair shops that it should be ok and if it ends up close to the gears, it would most likely be ground up since it is soft plastic. Should it be alright?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi there,

I feel it will make its way to the bottom of the box and just sit there, and if it does get munched, it should not do any damage, I would not be overly concerned about this.
