I had someone adjust the carburetor and noticed seval lines plugged. The adjuster guy said that I need a carburetor rebuild kit.(Do they last?). It also hesitates when I am not accelerating at 50mph or so.
I have relaced the distributer cap, wires and plugs. Rotor looked new. No points in distributer.

Hi there,

Carbys do need re kitting from time to time, thi sis not uncommon, but they must ensure that all the relevant vacuum lines are connected correctly or it will not operate correctly and the back fire you mentioned may well be due to this.
