I have a 1998 camary with 158000 miles on it
4 cylinder automatic transmission
it has had a random miss fire recently but I resolved that

today whe you drive the car it seems to be in a
bind on take off

when you get to hwy speed it seems ok

but when you let off the throttle as the car gets
loser and closer to stopping the car shutters and vibartes and whe you fianly get to a stop it will sooth out

i can put it in neutra and the problems stops
also when you are in 1st speed up and the let off
it seems like the transmission is slowing down the car
very fast
like it is not coasting
but if moved out of gear it will coast as normal

any ideas would be great
thansk

The first thing I would check is the tranny fluid level. Check the fluid with the vehicle on a flat level surface and in park with the engine running. Also check the condition of the fluid. If it's dark and smells burnt, you may just be due a fluid and filter change. Should be done every 2 years or 36,000 miles anyways.

I have check the fluid and the level is right
it is dark and I will change it
know when the car is put in gear it lugs down and
kills the engine unless you go th neutral or
park before it dies
do you think the fluid would have done this
over night
thanks
