Suspected faulty fuel system

Toyota carib manual transmission 4A ENGINE 4wheel drive 1995.

I have changed the fuel pump in the last two weeks and now the fuel filter.

Its like the vehicle is losing power when ascending more especially in gear 2 but no problem in 4.

what could be the reason.

Timing belt was also changed at the same time.

milleage is around 140000 km

pls I need your help.

When was it last tuned-up?

When you replaced the pump did you actually check whether its producing the correct pressure.

Could be a restriction in the exhaust system
