Toyota Tacoma 1996 110,000 miles v-6 Gentlemen, my tacoma has been developing an on again off again problem with starting. Starter solenoid clicks, lights come on strong but it won't crank. We have in the past been able to push start if all else fails. However this morning not even that worked. The battery reads 12v and the cables are clean and new. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Okay lets try charging the battery up to 12.6 or better. Now put a voltmeter on the battery-remove ignition fuse, crank engine over keep an eye on the meter while engine is being crank for 10sec-when the readings drops below 9.6 at that 10sec-I recommend a new battery, Before we continue to locate this ghost.

Here's your probable causes: Starter, Starter relay, NSS/Clutch switch, Ignition switch.
