Electrical problem
2005 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

the clock doesnt light up most of the time./ It keeps accurate time though./ Sometimes by tapping on the face the led will light up but after power is interupted it wouldnt restart on its on./ I was assuming a possible loose connection or a weak led./ But I have no idea how to gain access to the back of the unit.

If you are not blowing fuses, then it is an intermittent open circuit.

LED's generally work or don't. You will have to remove dash trim and radio to inspect wiring.

If you intend to do this yourself, use car repair manual link in this thread or get a Haynes manual for detailed instructions.

I will tell you that these types of problems (intermittent) are hard to isolate.
If you were to take it to Toyota, they would simply replace radio.
