A bad resistor or control module won't give you a noise. It just supplies electricity to the circuit. If a resistor was blown for a particular speed, then the blower motor wouldn't work at all at that speed.
If you motor is giving you a noise at a high speed, then it's either dirty or damaged, which will cause it to be out of balance at that speed or struggle to maintain that speed.
Most times, the motors begin to go bad at higher speeds and eventually stop working all together.
