the engine can't pick up speed while using a/c. After a stop it take a little while to gain speed but when not using a/c it alright

When AC is commanded the idle speed should increase and air and fuel flow.

If not then have the Idle Air Control valve checked.

But the car will not have as much power as it does with AC off, the compressor takes engine power to run it, this is especially true the older the car is.
