Hello, I have a corolla with 1.6 L I went on a steep hill and since the transmission is not performing as it used to. I am plannin to replance it. This I hesite why not a four spoeed 245L. Does it match with a 1.6L engine. How do I procced to do the upgrade. What is the differences of having a 4 speed in 1.6 L and 1.8L

You will have to change trans, convertor and wiring harness, possibily the CV axles/calipers/rotors.

While the 3 or 4 speed was available in the 1994, they are controlled differently with regard to shifting and hydraulic pressure control.

While it can be done, it will require some trial and error.
