I took out the old lock cylinder, and I put the new one in, it snapped in place, and the key can turn to all the positions except to the off position to take the key out. How do I make it go to the off position now?

On my Camry, I have to push the key in ( towards inside the cyinder) before I can remove the key.

If the steering wheel is locked, pull it fully with a little force clockwise or counterclockwise to release the lock and try to switch the key to the OFF position.

I tried pushing in the key while turning, but it still won't budge to turn off. And I tested out the new lock cylinder before installing it, and it properly turned to each position. It was only after installing it that it wouldn't turn fully off.

Also the wheel is not locked, but I did try turning it either way anyway, but still nothing has changed.

Upon research, there are two different kinds of ignition key cylinder locks available for 1993 corolla sedan

1. With tilt steering wheel
Part number 69057-12250

2. Without tilt steering wheel
Part number 69057-12200 or 69057-12220

If you can still pull out the new one and compare it to the old one. Might be the best thing to do.
