Engine Performance problem
1996 Toyota Camry Front Wheel Drive Automatic 239800 miles

Hi my name is Kristin and I did take my car into a Toyota dealership garage to have it looked at because my engine light came on and so I had it looked at and they said that I needed to get a new catalytic converter basically the whole bit. And I was wondering even though I did NOT have it fixed yet how long can my car go one running without it being fixed the catalytic converter and the whole bit. See I'm going to Chicago the 3rd which is a Monday in August but I don't have the time and enough money to get it fixed anytime this week before the 3rd of August comes and I'm only driving to Chicago for one day and then coming right back. Could I still make it to Chicago driving wise with my Toyota Camry with the catalytic converter not being fixed yet? That's some of the questions that I'd like to know please.
