Can a faulty air intake hose cause high speed overheating?

Inspect coolant level. Inspect heater core hoses to ensure both are warm to touch. If only one is warm then heater core is clogged causing vehicle to overheat. If these are both OK, inspect thermostat to ensure it is not stuck.
