Unable to remove the original ignition switch unit (lost original key) to replace it with a new one. \R\nThe Instructions with new ignition key specify that to remove the original unit, it must be in the "ACC" position. Problem is it looks like it's in the "Lock" position. Again, I don't have the original key, which is why I need to replace it. I removed the shroud from the sterring column to access the unit and remove the backend (whired unit). Please help with suggestions or point me to a source. Don't really want to go to a shop.

Hi there,

You will have to drop the lock assembly off the column, you will see that the 2 bolts that secure it have no heads, these break away as a anti theft device when tightened, the bolts will have to be removed with a stud extractor and new bolts used to replace the lock assembly.
