Hi, as I said before, I have a good mechanical mind, but little experience working on cars. The most fancy thing I have done so far is the valve cover gasket.

Anyway, today the compressor went totally belly up as I was driving, so the motor stopped as the load went up!
How hard is it to DIY an AC compressor?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

The access is a bit limited but the only thing you should have done id get the refrigerant evacuated first as this is extremely dangerous to let off into the air as you can suffer freeze burns. You will also need to replace the receiver dryer and when the system is together it will have to be vacuumed down for leak testing & re charging.
