1987 Toyota 4Runner 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

My engine idles a bit, and then ever few secant it sounds like it skips a beat. What I was told it could have been the EGR valve, or the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I would like to know which it could be before I buy a replacement part or repair something thats not busted, what should or can I do? Anyone.

Maybe it all it needs a major tune-up. When was the last one?

This car has been sitting in my back yard for sometime, the engine has been overhauled to almost new, everything else is in order. I would say the last tune-up would be around 11 years and two months ago, and a new componet has been added to what could be causing it, The TPS.
