Codes read a random misfire with Cyl's 1, 3 and 4. Changed out all the spark plugs, ignition coils/packs, and downstream o2 sensor, yet the check engine light came back on once the battery was hooked up and the car was driven for a mile. Does check engine light need to be reset? Or does this mean there is still a problem?

It could have retained memory, try this method to reset the ECM(PCM).
RESET PROCEDURE 2 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes. 2. Reconnect battery cable. 3. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperatures before test-driving. 4. Perform a thorough test drive with several accelerations from a stop with "light throttle" application until proper transmission shifting is verified. Does it run rough?

Thanks for the feedback
to answer your questions:

Yes codes read: P0301-P0303-P0304
And yes the idle is rough, but smoother now that the ignition packs were replaced.
Do not have a scan tool, disconnected the battery, let car idle for 5 minutes then took test drive, and light came back on.

If you have a coil pack setup, did you possibly misroute the wires? Of coil on plug, probably couldn't.
