Humming sound gets louder the faster I go. It stops when I turn left so I thought it was wheel bearing. I replaced drivers side and it is still happening. Any suggestions?

If the tires are worn unevenly then this is most likely the issue. Go idea with the wheel bearing but that normally makes more of a grinding noise. Humming noises are most likely tires. So if you found them uneven then I would either replace them or at least rotate them if the rear tires are more even.

Due to this being a solid rear axle vehicle, the rear tires should actually even out. So check the rear tires and if they are better then rotate them and drive it. You may have to deal with the humming for a little while but it should get better. If they are too far gone then this will not work.

Lastly it is critical to rotate the tires on this truck every 6,000 to 10,000 miles or first sign of them wearing.

I did rotate tires and have an alignment.
If I barely turn left noise stops but straight or right it still makes noise.

Oh. That changes things. Clearly tires would not be that sensitive.

It may be a good idea to get a recording of it. This is obviously something rotational as it gets louder the faster you go so we can't rule out the other side wheel bearing.

I know you said it goes away when turning left and you replaced the left side wheel bearing, and that is typical. When you unload that side and the noise goes away, normally it is that bearing. However, I have seen bearings get quieter when loading them.

Can you check the local parts store that has a tool rental program and see if they have a set of chassis ears? Basically these are microphones that you place around the vehicle and transmits the noise into the speaker/headphones that you place inside the car.

Let me know if you can get a recording of it and I am sure we can figure out what to do next. Thanks

Sounds great. I just want to clarify, if you can find chassis ears, that will help us pin point the noise so that is priority.

Then can you get a recording of the noise on your phone? Is it loud enough to just capture it even if you can't find the chassis ears? Don't feel like you need to respond tonight. I just wanted to make sure you understood that me hearing the noise would really help. Thanks

Okay. Thanks for the update. They are not a common component but they are not too expensive to purchase them if you want to. I attached a pretty common set that most mechanics purchase.

Clearly these are not something that you will use very often so it would be better to rent them but if you can't figure out what this is and you have someone look at it, they are going to charge at least $100.00 to figure it out. Just a thought.

I would say to try and get the recording and if we still can't figure it out then maybe buy a set if you want.
