Did the belt break? I hope you are using a belt kit with the tensioner and guides.

I am concerned that if the belt failed, you may have valve damage. The way you can tell is by installing the belt on the engine. then do a compression test on the cylinder to make sure you have 130-150 pounds.

If you do not, then the heads will have to come off and the valves replaced.
