After replacing the coolant transfer pipe there is a loud ticking/slapping sound under valve cover?

I replaced the coolant transfer pipe, now there is a loud ticking/slapping sound coming from driver side valve cover when i start it. Also when i start it the noise will start the car will shake sputter and shut off after 5-10 seconds.

It sounds like the engine was overheated? If so, this can cause the piston to have scored the cylinder walls, please go over this guide to see if it can help:
