So I have this plug and it plugs into the front of engine it got cut and I went to put the wires back together and there is 2 of each wire. Example there's 2 yellow wires with a black line. I know that I need it for the car to run I don't even know what it is called. Anyways, how would I go about matching the wires?

This appears to be the plug for the transaxle so are you sure it is in the engine and not the transmission? There are two yellow and black wires. Both go to the PCM but one for C1 and the transmission fluid temp and the other to C2 for a shift solenoid. So you are going to have to perform what is called a continuity test to figure out which is which.

To do this, you need to disconnect the PCM connectors one at a time and use a meter and touch one lead to the wire at the PCM connector and then the other lead at one of these wires at this connector. The wire that has continuity is the wire that you need to connect to this wire on the connector.

Let me know if this doesn't make sense.

Thanks

Understood. It is a pain but the more you do, the better it gets.

They will not have continuity with each other. The only wires that will have continuity are the same wire.

Think of it like holding a string in your hands. The only way to have continuity is for you to be holding both ends of the same string.

So you want to do the same thing with these wires but you can't hold them from end to end and know you are holding the same wire if they are the color. So your meter shows a complete circuit or continuity when you touch the leads to both ends of the same wire.

You can also use resistance or ohms measurement and it will show OL or an open circuit until you touch the same wire where you will have about a half ohm of resistance.

Then you can see which wire you are on at the PCM to determine what circuit that is to determine which position it goes in on the transmission connector.

Does that make sense?

Which connector are you on at the PCM? There should be two of them. Looks like there is a yellow and black wire running to each of them.

Can you get a picture of your meter and how you have it set up?

So I went ahead and hooked it up kind of guessing. I did take the wires all the way out and marked which ones go to the PCM. Anyways I tried to start it it turns over but it shuts right back off. So I am not sure if I have a wire wrong or what. If I have wires wrong wouldn't it blow a fuse?

What connector did you take them out of? Did you take them out of the PCM connector? Can you get a picture of what this looks like?

If it is the PCM then look at the wiring diagram and you will see a number above the wire and that is the terminal location number. However, if you send this info on what connector you are dealing with we can get you the detail on that connector.

However, have you done the resistance or continuity test to see which wire goes where?

So I don't know why but I couldn't get the continuity to work I think it worked once so I put it all back together before your message. I hooked the plug up and my theft passcode 2 is active and shutting off the fuel. How do I fix that?

If this was not happening before then it set the system active because it thinks you are trying to steal the vehicle or something is not connected properly.

However, we unfortunately need to get a new post started because others may have these codes for different reasons and want to get your resolution but won't find it under this heading. So let's get a new post with this screen shot that you attached and we will figure out the cause of these codes but as I said, I suspect you have a connector issue that you may have touched recently. The U0100 is pretty common of that issue and the theft codes are just because of the communication issue.
