My mom car is the LS model. The odometer and gear selector lights do not work. The man that inspects her car said he will not pass it with these not working. Can I go to a salvage yard and take a bezel out of the same year and model car and put it in her car and will it work? Her radio kept running the battery to dead so I went to a salvage yard and got her another one. When I put it in it would not work. She had to take it to a Chevrolet dealer and have it programmed that cost her $109.00. That radio only lasted about a month when it too would drain the battery. We had to take the radio fuse out so the battery would not die after setting a couple days. She does not drive it every day mainly to church on Sundays. Do you have any ideas why the radio keeps draining the battery after setting a couple days? If I do find a bezel will everything work after putting it in or will that need programmed too?
Thank you

This may be a body module problem for lights so have it scanned for codes a mechanic will need to do it. The odometer may be a dash problem, but even if you switch it still will not work as they are VIN number specific and must be programmed.

Do you know about how much they charge to program the bezel to the vin number? Would they want it in the car or out to program it?

Check locally for that it may be the body module as only a dealer can do a body module. Any mechanic can scan for the rest and check locally as prices vary.
