Ok I have a 2005 base model impala and I upgraded my instrument cluster to the SS type which has not only the tachometer but it also has a oil pressure gauge that sits still. My questions is I know that the stepper motors go bad in the instrument cluster but could this problem also be related to the computer not sending the signal to the oil pressure gauge? Since the car originaly did not come with a oil pressure gauge, and if so can I have my computer's code changed to send the signal to the gauge? How would I fix this problem? Please advise

First you need to compare wiring diagrams to see if the gauge uses the same wiring as the light it originally had. Second, the gauge requires a "sender" the original light uses a "switch" so it doesnt send any real info to th egauge as far as pressure goes. Try starting by installing the correct sender.
