Wondering why you replace the whole fuel system and now it will crank but wont start. Getting fire to the coil, everything's good on that part. So what could be the problem?

You need three things to start the engine. Compression, fuel, and spark at the right time.

Let's assume compression is okay and we can come back to that if needed. Let's start with spraying some starter fluid in the intake and see if it fires. Even though you replaced the entire fuel system we still could have a fuel issue.

Then we need to confirm spark is getting to the plugs. If the vehicle doesn't fire with starter fluid then pull a plug and hold it against the block and crank the engine and see if we have spark on the plug.

Lastly if these two don't lead anything then we need to check compression. Here are some guides that goes through all of this:

Lastly, can you tell me the reason that we replaced the entire fuel system? This could shed some light on the issue. Thanks

Hi,

If you have spark and fuel, it should run unless there is a different problem such as engine timing or loss of an fuel injector pulse. Do me a favor. See if the engine starts for a couple seconds if you use starting fluid. If it does and stalls, then we know for sure it is a fuel issue.

If it does start as I mentioned above, see if there is an injector pulse. Here is a link that explains how to check:

Let me know what you find. Also, let me know what has been replaced so far.

Take care,
Joe
