When I start it up to let it idle to warm up once it gets warm the temperature gauge keeps Rising until the fan kicks on and cools it back down and then the temperature gauge goes back up until the fans kick back on over and over. What could be my problem? I just bought this car, and this is my only issue.

Hello,

What you are describing sounds like a typical operation of the cooling fan.
As it is designed to turn on when the engine reaches the operating temperature, that will bring down the temperature then the fan will shut off and do the same cycle as needed.

On this vehicle the operating temperature is 190F to 220F. So, if the temperature stays within 220F when the fan kicks in it is normal.

Does the gauge stay within the normal range?

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
