Hi, my customer complained that all of a sudden tachometer gauge (needle) is not working. Usually when you start the engine the needle goes up and back to zero then to the engine relative RPMs. My query is, will the instrument cluster have 1 fuse for all the gauges on the panel or does it have different fuses for different gauges? Is it fairly simple to diagnose a such as this one?

The instrument cluster has 3 fuses #21, #23 and #52 I would check those first, but chances are the cluster is going bad. Here is how you can check the fuses to make sure there is power and the fuse locations as well. Also, I have included how to change out the cluster to fix the problem.

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

I pull out the three fuses check their condition put them back, next thing you know tachometer gauge is working again, my guess is one of the three fuses was loose.

It happens, try to enhance the fuse connectors, also sometimes rebooting the power can make it work again as well. Use 2CarPros. Com anytime we are here to help.
