I replaced the spindle knuckle and strut but that didn't fix the problem.

Hi,

Can you get a picture of the lean just so we are on the same page? I assume it is the front corner that is lower?

If you replaced the knuckle and strut, did you do anything with the spring?

The spring is what carries the weight of the vehicle and the shock/strut just cushions or dampens any road vibrations.

I assume the spring is broken or has possibly weakened. Let me know and we can go from there. Thanks

Sorry for the late response. I actually changed the strut assembly spring and all. The reason I had to replace these parts was that I hit a curb on a rainy night in a construction area. Which immediately after it dropped. I had a repair shop look at it but couldn't figure it out. Broken or bent suspension parts?

And by the time I saw your response, it was dark. A friend temporarily added spacers in the spring. And it rides a little rough when going over bumps.

Sorry, I was away from my computer for a couple days.

It sounds like one of two things. Either something is still bent or more likely you got the incorrect spring. If you send me the last eight of the VIN I can send you the OEM part number of the spring you should have and then you can cross reference that with the assembly that you bought.

If adding spaces fixed the lean issue then the spring is the issue. Since there is really only one way to put the spring in, I don't see how it could be installed incorrectly. Also, adding the spacers is what caused it to ride stiffer over bumps.

Just let me know what the VIN is and we can go from there because the incorrect spring explains everything. Thanks

This the vin 233976.
Considering what happened do you think it would be a good idea to change the lower forward and rearward control arm. The curb was kinda high and seems that would be a lot more travel than normal for those parts?

Based on your VIN the right side spring should be the following part number. This is the OEM number so do you have the part number and place you purchased the parts from?

05168881AB

If you got them from a dealer, then the spring should match this number. Let me know. Thanks

The strut is aftermarket and the spring is factor. I'm going to get another OEM spring and strut. And get the lower control arm. I really appreciate your help. If you have any other suggestions I'm open to them.

Sounds good. The only reason you would need to replace the control arm is if it is bent. Clearly if you hit the curb that hard it very well could be bent. However, you need to have an alignment done after these parts are replaced which should show if something is still bent. Before you put the new spring on, compare it to the old one and make sure they are different heights. I would just hate to see you put the same part back in.

Also, if the spring was OEM was it the same part number as above?

Right! Really don't want to spend money for the same problem. The part number above is discontinued and replaced with a similar number. I ordered the parts from a Mopar website so I'm hoping it'll be close to the original. And I think I got spoiled with so many sites offering free shipping. The shipping cost was as much as another part. Lol
Once again thank you for your insight! You've been very helpful.

Okay. Let me know. I just want to make sure when you say the part was discontinued that they didn't switch the base part number. I show the part has been superseded to an AC number. Meaning, the numbers of the part number are still the same but the AB has changed to an AC.

Let me know what happens. We are here if you need more information. Thanks
