Hi,

Does anything happen when you try opening it? If not, I need you to check two different fuses. Both fuses are located in the fuse box under the left side of the dash.

Fuses 23 and 27 are the power supplies. Fuse 27 runs the motor to open the sunroof.

If you look below, I attached the wiring schematic for the circuit and a pic of the fuse box. I highlighted the fuses for you.

I need you to check those fuses first. If they appear good, then it is important to check if they are getting power. Here is a link you may find helpful:

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

I will check those two in the morning. It’s closed now and nothing happens with the switches. I replaced the motor on Saturday and that’s when all this began.

Hi,

Chances are a fuse failed. Regardless, let me know what you find. Also, let me know if there was an electrical issue that led you to replace the motor.

Take care,

Joe

Sorry for the delay Joe. It rained all day yesterday, so I had to wait. Both fuses are intact. No failure to start with. Drains got clogged and water got the motor is my suspicion. Everything worked fine up until that point.

Yes sir. Checked for power and all seemed good. Did disconnect the battery and tried the switches again and it acted like it worked momentarily then nothing again. Wondering if maybe the circuit board in the new motor has issues.

Hi,

That is a very good possibility. Do this. At the motor connector, check to see if there is power at the blue wire with a red tracer. If there is, then you can check the violet wire with a white tracer and the violet wire with a brown tracer for continuity to ground when the switch is actuated. If you have both power and ground, the motor is bad. (See pic below)

If there is no power, we need to trace the blue/red wire for an open. If there is no ground, then the switch may be the issue.

Here is a link you may find helpful:

Let me know what you find or if I can help in any way.

Take care,

Joe

Will do! Another question. I see there are two motors. Is one for the glass and one for the shade? I changed the one above the driver's seat.

Hi,

It sounds like you got the correct one for the glass to open. The one on the passenger side is for the shade.

See pic below.

Let me know.
