Hello,

One of reasons the vehicle can stall like this is due to a failing crank position sensor.
The crank sensor sends a signal to the ECM of the engine running. Over time heat and vibration can make the sensor lose its internal calibration. This will make the sensor send incorrect data to the ECM. Which can trigger a shutdown.
This may or may not turn on the check engine light.

Is your check engine light illuminated?
If so scanning and retrieving the code(s) can help with the diagnostics.

I have attached diagrams showing the crank sensor replacement procedure. Keep in mind that this sensor does need to be programmed after replacement.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
