Sudden fluctuation with engine power

For the past few months, I am finding that every now and then, the car suddenly becomes sluggish and I have to push harder on the gas pedal to continue going at the same speed. If I stop the car and restart it, this problem goes away. I had the cam sensor changed and fuel injectors cleaned, but the problem has remained. Would you have a diagnosis? FYI, my mechanic noticed that there is a small oil leak on top of the timing belt.

When this happens does it come back to normal on its own? If not, what do you have to do in order to get it back?

Here are some guides that help with this issue but I am thinking that we have a sensor issue if this happens all of a sudden with no warning, it just sounds like we are possibly going to a condition like limp mode.

Do you have any check engine lights or other warning lights? Have we checked for codes? If not, lets do that and see what is there if any codes.
