I have a tear in the cv boot for the right front cv boot(i think that is what it is) and it has spun grease all over the back of the engine and muffler. It creates a oily burnt rubber smell. I live 500 miles from where this happens, can I limp it home or should I have it fixed here?

Hi jjacobson,

If you get it fixed now, you just need to replace the rubber boot and add grease.

If you limp home, you would need to replace the CV joint by the time you get home.

Choice is yours to make.
