I noticed a smell from my Subaru that smelled like something electrical was shorting. I coluld not locate the source and the the smell went away. I drove the car 300 miles the next day, and shortly before returning reaching my destination, the AC stopped working. Upon arriving, I notice the temperature gauge was high. I looked under the hood and the top hose was compressed, but no apparent leaks. The belts looked fine.
I replaced the thermostat. The car continues to overheat if you use it too often. My wife said today that the battery and oil lights came on just before she pulled into the driveway, but it did not turn off.
I have not gotten a chance to look at it yet.
Any suggestions?

Hi there,

I would replace the pressure cap as this will cause the system yo collapse if it is faulty, also start with having a scan done to see if there are any set fault codes in the ECU.

Hi. I started having this issue last night. Did you ever get your overheating issue resolved?
Thanks,
