Brakes problem
1997 Subaru Outback 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Manual 135K miles

Hi. The parking brake lever on my 1997 Outback broke suddenly. The plastic plunger that you depress when pulling the lever up, or when releasing the parking brake, fell out of the lever along with the spring. Looks like the little plunger was crumbling. Is this repairable? Any idea if Subaru sells replacement parts for this? It just happened so I have not asked the subaru guys yet. Thanks.

Subaru does sell replacement parts for the 1997 e-brake handle. Though Subaru original parts will cost more. I would see about finding a auto salvage yard near you and see about getting one there. The cost would be a lot cheaper. You can phone both to find out what the prices are.
