Car loses power, then stops

Today I was driving my 1992 subaru leagcy AWD 2.2 non turbo. As I was driving I started to lose power. I drove a couple miles and had lost total power. When I had stopped at the light the car didnt stall, but would not move, in any gear. The rpms would go up but the car wouldnt move. I have had no problems with the tranny as I just replaced it. Please help

Lots of possibilities
Thats not one that can be solved with a desciption only. Start with checking the following
1. Possible broken flex plate
2. Possible broken axle if 2WD or Awd if the AWD doesnt work
3. New trans no good
