91 Subaru Loyale Cranks But Won't Start

I started it up today, was idling high as it was cold. About 2 minutes in it stalled out.

Since, it's started a couple of times but quickly stalled out on its own.

When cranking a hear what sounds like a cough coming from exhaust.

Anyone have any ideas?

It sound like it is not getting enough fuel, check to see if it is getting any gas through the fuel filter.

Try to diconnect the fuel line at the fuel filter under the hood, set end of line on a rag turn key on to "run" see if fuel sprays from hose (turn off quick if it does) if not fuel pump is bad, located under car on pass side in frint of gas tank should hear it cycle with key on
