Brakes go on slowly as I drive down the road - and stops the car. Sometimes with it just sitting in the drive, they lock-up. (?)

Hi Joe Doaks 50,

Thank you for the donation.

When the ABS lite shows, an error has been detected and you need to retriewve the trouble code to understand what could be wrong.

Here are the code retrieval procedures, let me know what you find.

RETRIEVING CODES

1. ABS system has ability to store trouble codes when system fault is detected. To retrieve trouble codes, locate ABS electronic control unit (ECU) under right side of front passenger seat. Fold back carpet between door sill and seat to expose ABS ECU. See Fig. 4 .

2 . Turn ignition on. An ABS ECU LED light will start to flash if a trouble code is stored. See Fig. 5 . ABS ECU is capable of displaying one code at a time. If more than one code is stored, lowest number code will be displayed first. If necessary, drive vehicle after repairing first code to store and read any additional codes.
